The tricolor flag was officially adopted as the national flag of Hungary once again on October 1, 1957, following the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, which briefly saw the nation declare its independence from Soviet influence before being brutally suppressed.

Today, the Hungarian flag proudly flies throughout the country and serves as a symbol of the nation’s history, culture, and resilience. Hungarians celebrate their national identity on numerous occasions, such as National Day on March 15th, when the flag is prominently displayed in cities and towns across the country.
